Above: The Next Big Idea Is Here 

In December 2019, Roland and Sherrie Lasher sold their home studio and gallery and downsized RSL Design Studio, preparing for what they believed would be The Next Big Idea. With more than 60 years of combined experience in graphic design, creative services, and fine art, they were ready for a new chapter. Then, on March 1, 2020, COVID shut down the country — and that next big idea was suddenly put on hold.

​But creativity doesn’t stop. It adapts.

In 2021, Roland and Sherrie founded The Lasher Center for Creative Arts, LLC, transforming their garage into Roland’s painting studio. With reclaimed canvases rescued from Goodwill and layers of white gesso, Roland began painting anew. From those humble beginnings, his signature acrylic series was born — now grown to more than 24 original works and still expanding.

​At the same time, Sherrie began teaching drawing classes to students ranging in age from 10 to 90, sharing a lifelong passion for art and encouraging creativity at every stage of life.

Roland’s work — bold, expressive, and deeply personal — is featured throughout this website, a testament to his artistic vision and creative spirit. At 86 years old, Roland continues to paint with passion and purpose. Sherrie, now 81, continues to teach, mentor, and inspire.
