My Early Encounters with Art

From a young age, I found myself drawn to drawing and painting. As a quiet and reserved child, I often hesitated to share my thoughts openly, which led me to seek alternative methods to express my inner feelings. I vividly recall my first encounter with being different from the norm when I attempted to write my name with my left hand. My well-meaning kindergarten teacher consistently encouraged me to conform, insisting that I write with my right hand. While we now recognize that being left-handed is perfectly acceptable, I adapted to writing with my right hand, but often wonder if my journey would have been different without the teacher's influence.

It is true that we all possess our imperfections. Young children are inherently open and perceive the wonders of the world around them in a clear and simple manner, eager to discover everything through touch, taste, and sound. Their innocence remains untouched by the culturral complexities they have yet to learn.

The same was true with me as a new believer. I reflect back on my life, the same thoughts parellell with acceptance of Jesus as my savior at a young age. Fast forward 65 years, and the biggest discovery of my life was understanding the biggest gift of all when Jesus died on the cross, was ressurected in the flesh assending into heaven to sit at the right hand of God. God sent sent his advocate and teacher, the Holy Spirit. There is a sense of wonder also characterized my experience as a new believer. I wonder why no one ever told be about the most powerful gift given to us because God Loves Us. All we have to do is to repent our sins and surrender our soul to our Lord. Amazing.

I am blessed to be able to teach people to draw, its an exillerating expeience when students see for the first time that what they thought something looked like was not true. God teaches us to See through His Word. Learning to see as the artist sees parallellls of seeing through words of Jesus and takes into the light. As my blog develops I hope to hear from you about your journey of creative discoveries. The Human mind is endless in their choice of art creation. Crafts, hobbies, painting and yes through learning to draw. I'm never board with the endless varieity of art created by all of you.

A PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

God, thank you for your mighty armor. Please help this nation to stand firm and not live in fear of the enemy. Help us fix our eyes on you, the author and perfecter of our faith. As we put on the breastplate of righteousness to guard our emotions, self-worth and trust in you. We are ready to share the Gospel of peace with our shoes on. We will take up the shield of faith to extinguish insults, setbacks and temptations.

Thank you for the helmet of salvation to protect our minds and remind us nothing can separate us from your love. For we are saved by grace through faith. As we open the sword of your Word, we increase our trust in you as we carefully wield its power.

In Jesus’s mighty name. AMEN
